Friday 5

Posted in friday5 at 1:42 pm by Sarah

It’s been a crappy bloody fortnight, hence the no posting, but here’s the lastest Friday 5 from thefridayfive:

1. What were some of the smells and tastes of your childhood?
Smells - sunscreen, for sure. Even now, as soon as I smell sunscreen I think of days on the beach as a kid. :)

2. What did you have as a child that you do not think children today have?
Decent cartoons on the tv!!!

3. What elementary grade was your favorite?
Probably 5th or 6th.

4. What summer do you remember the best as a child?
Ha. Probably the Chrissie holidays between 4th & 5th grade. I came down with chicken pox. :P

5. What one piece of advice would you give to your younger self, and at what age?
What other people think REALLY doesn’t matter (though I’m still trying to tell myself this one). And that would be at ANY age.

Meh

Posted in music, real life at 9:42 am by Sarah

Woke up yesterday morning with a sore throat and aching sinuses. Didn’t sleep much last night because I was always waking up to blow my nose and the sinuses have been shocking. I hate colds. :(

Nothing terribly new to report. My life is pretty boring at the moment. I’m still tossing up whether or not I should go to the second Michael Buble concert in Brisbane. There’s a ’situation’ there so… yeah. Decision needs to be made.

Fannish 5

Posted in books, friday5, geekage, idiot box, movies at 8:51 pm by Sarah

From Fannish5:

What 5 series/books/movies can you rewatch/reread time and again?

+ Twilight by Stephenie Meyer (sad, but true)
+ Stargate SG-1
+ LOTR: FOTR (technically ALL of the LOTR series, but especially FOTR)
+ The Dish
+ Stardust

To be honest, I can rewatch (time and again) most of the TV series that I own on DVD but the meme did only ask for 5 answers…

Friday 5

Posted in friday5 at 10:20 pm by Sarah

From FridayFiver:

1. Describe where you grew up:
Kingscliff. It’s a gorgeous little seaside town on the far north coast of NSW, just below the QLD/NSW border. I grew up in various houses in Kingscliff, usually either a (max) 5 min walk from the beach, or within view of it. Population was only about 5000 so it was nice and tiny - had a real country feel to it. Best place I can imagine for growing up. :)

2. Do you wear any jewelery?
Sleepers (earrings) as I usually forget to change them, and my watch. I just don’t do the jewellery thing.

3. What do you have too much of?
Ha. Geeky (electronic) toys. For sure. Off the top of my head: desktop PC, laptop, 3 TVs (one LCD widescreen), 3 DVD players, portable DVD player, iPod, stereo, iPAQ and god knows what else I’m forgetting.

4. Who is a fool?
Anyone who doesn’t keep an open mind.

5. What’s your nickname?
Sez or Sar - depends on the person who’s talking to me! :)

Quite possibly one of the BEST things I have ever seen on Good News Week.

Alas, I never actually saw this on TV as I missed last week’s episode! But a friend was kind enough to fill me in.

Watch, laugh, and sing along! :D

We’re happy little vegemites…

These are the 50 Greatest TV Shows?? FAIL.

Posted in idiot box, memes at 8:12 am by Sarah

Empire Magazine’s 50 Greatest TV Shows meme

1. Bold the shows you’ve watched every episode of
2. Italicise the shows you’ve seen at least one episode of
3. Post your answers

(Seriously, I can’t believe this list. That certain things made it on (”Family Guy”?! For real?!) and others didn’t… WTH.)

Not so painful

Posted in general, internets at 5:39 pm by Sarah

So it’s been a while in coming but I’ve finally updated my version of Wordpress. Yes, I’ve been putting it off all this time because I couldn’t be arsed but it was surprisingly a lot less painful than I was expecting.

The new Admin screens are interesting. They may take a little getting used to (just where stuff is) but it looks like it’ll be more user friendly in the long run.

Nothing new to report - it’s been a very quiet weekend which isn’t a bad thing as I’ve been feeling a bit off. Hopefully it will pass before tomorrow when it’s back to work!

Quite possibly the greatest ever. :D

According to Greater Union, The Dark Knight releases 17 July 2008 in Australia.

According to IMDB, The X-Files Sequel is currently set to be released 24 July 2008 in Australia.

*geekgasms*

I AM GOING TO HAVE THE GREATEST BIRTHDAY MOVIE EXPERIENCE. :w00t:

So the question is… can I hold off on seeing TDK for a week (OMG) so I can do a geeky double whammy? Or do I say to hell with it, see it the weekend it releases then do a double whammy anyway? :D

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
