From Fannish5:
What 5 series/books/movies can you rewatch/reread time and again?
+ Twilight by Stephenie Meyer (sad, but true)
+ Stargate SG-1
+ LOTR: FOTR (technically ALL of the LOTR series, but especially FOTR)
+ The Dish
+ Stardust
To be honest, I can rewatch (time and again) most of the TV series that I own on DVD but the meme did only ask for 5 answers…

First up, The Hobbit.
Guillermo Del Toro is directing The Hobbit!!
That’s BOTH movies! (Yes, both) Also, am very impressed he went to TOR.n himself to post and confirm the news.
More news about it on TOR.n here.
Next up, The Dark Knight.
New poster available!! OMG OMG.
HERE @ ComingSoon.net
*flails* And MORE coming in four days apparently!
Also, in more news about how awesome my birthday month will be. Not only do I get The Dark Knight a bit over a week before my birthday and The X-Files: I Want to Believe the day before… Stargate: Continuum is releasing July 29!
This July is going to kick some major ass.

According to Greater Union, The Dark Knight releases 17 July 2008 in Australia.
According to IMDB, The X-Files Sequel is currently set to be released 24 July 2008 in Australia.
*geekgasms*
I AM GOING TO HAVE THE GREATEST BIRTHDAY MOVIE EXPERIENCE.
So the question is… can I hold off on seeing TDK for a week (OMG) so I can do a geeky double whammy? Or do I say to hell with it, see it the weekend it releases then do a double whammy anyway?
HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

Here are a few I’m looking forward to seeing this year:
Mamma Mia!
Have never seen the musical this looks like it’s based on but this actually looks kinda cool! Got the shock of my life to see no other than Lily Kane in the lead! *g*
Wanted
Morgan Freeman, Angelina Jolie with guns, and James McAvoy being hot. HELL YES.
10,000 BC
New one from Roland Emmerich. This actually looks really cool (mammoths FTW!) but now that I know Steven Strait is in the lead, I’m definitely seeing it!
Definitely, Maybe
Out of all of them, this is DEFINITELY the cutest and one I’d really like to see. Ryan Reynolds as a dad? D’awwww. And who’s the little cutie who plays his daughter? She looks familiar.
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
UM HELLO. Yes of course I’m seeing this. Big duh factor. Plus we get some proper eye candy in the form of Ben Barnes - w00t!
Cassandra’s Dream
There’s only one thing you need to know about this - Ewan McGregor and Colin Farrell are in it. YES PLEASE.
Leatherheads
George Clooney and John Krasinski in a movie about American football. Looks hilarious.
Forbidden Kingdom
I’m not usually big on the martial arts movies but even I would seriously consider going and seeing a movie with both Jackie Chan AND Jet Li.
Plus, the MAJOR geek movie of the year…
Star Trek
No description needed.
And last but CERTAINLY not least, the movie I am waiting for most eagerly, which is released about a fortnight before my birthday - YES!!!!!!
The Dark Knight
HELL FRIGGIN’ YES. Christopher Nolan, I freakin’ LOVE you, man. If the movie is half as good as the trailer makes it looks, I’m going to die a happy fangirling death.

THE MOST AWESOME NEWS THAT EVER WAS TOTALLY FREAKING AWESOME!!!
In short, NewLine, MGM AND PETER JACKSON & FRAN WALSH are joining forces to co-produce The Hobbit… AND a sequel.
What could a sequel entail, you ask? TOR.N already have a few ideas thrown around.
Oh my god, this is EXCITING STUFF!!!! XD I honestly didn’t think it was going to happen, what with the lawsuit between PJ and NewLine. But it’s HAPPENING! *squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!*
…I foresee a trip to NZ in my future. Well, I bloody hope that’s a trip to NZ I see in my future. LOL

VirginMegastores.co.uk has S1 Doctor Who (2005) for £6.99.
Considering the boxset is still ridiculously expensive out here, I just ordered it. £6.99 is what it was processed as (therefore, if it’s a glitch - likely - then I’m assuming they’ll have to honour it) and £4.50 for the postage. So I just bagged the boxset for AU$26 (or thereabouts) incl. postage. For REAL.
*is happy DW fan*
I knew there was a reason I kept putting off buying the boxset.

I am soooooo glad I’m not on the whale watch today.
Check out where the 2 northern storm cells are (and are heading).

Right where my boat was 2 days ago!!!!!!
If I was finding it bumpy on Wednesday being so close to open water (towards the northern part of the island), I can only imagine what it would be like today. Eep!
Totally different topic but is now the best time to be buying stuff from the US, or what? I went and priced The Ultimate Matrix Box Set (10 discs) which is $99.95 (and out of stock) at EzyDVD. However, with the AUD doing so well against the greenback, check this out.
I can get the same 10-disc boxset (granted, Region 1 but I have a multiregion player) for US$36.99 at Amazon with US$7.98 shipping, for a grand total of US$44.97… or AU$49.32!!!
Less than HALF PRICE on what it would cost out here, AND it includes postage.
Yeah, the temptation is definitely there…

Check this out.
The direction the dancer turns indicates which side of the brain you use more.
When I first did this I was thinking I’m DEFINITELY a left-hand side of the brain gal. It was anti-clockwise and I couldn’t get it to change for anything. But after a little persevering it’s actually quite easy to get it to change to clockwise - usually involves looking away (out of the corner of my eye) to do it. Now when I look at it, it’s a coin-toss as to which direction it will go in for me.
However, looking at the list of left-brain functions is about the very best description of me I’ve ever read.
