So it’s been a while in coming but I’ve finally updated my version of Wordpress. Yes, I’ve been putting it off all this time because I couldn’t be arsed but it was surprisingly a lot less painful than I was expecting.
The new Admin screens are interesting. They may take a little getting used to (just where stuff is) but it looks like it’ll be more user friendly in the long run.
Nothing new to report - it’s been a very quiet weekend which isn’t a bad thing as I’ve been feeling a bit off. Hopefully it will pass before tomorrow when it’s back to work!

Gee, do you think they might be expecting some storms?
Wouldn’t want to be in Cooly tonight. They are going to be BOMBARDED.
ETA: Radar’s looking fun, too.
ETA 2: WTF??? I really hope these don’t all converge on us. LOL I think that is probably the most storm cells I’ve seen on one map ever.

This family has too many phones. As well as the mobiles we each have (though, granted, Tai’s doesn’t work) we have the home phone and the VoIP phone.
Just had the biggest “WTF???” moment that brought on this realisation. Mum was talking to a friend/author on the phone and it rang while she was talking. Tai and I didn’t realise until a few seconds later that it was the home phone ringing and Mum is on the VoIP phone.
Sometimes I think technology rules our lives.

There’s one thing in particular I miss most about living in Kingscliff… the sound of rain. We don’t get near enough of it in Brisbane (even out here on the bay) so when it does finally rain, on days like today, I don’t take it for granted.
It’s enough to sit here, look out the sunroom window over the water at the clouds and rain rolling in, and just listen to the constant patter on the roof and the ground outside (though it’s a bit heavier now).
BLISS.
Mum mentioned something to me earlier - today would be the perfect day to head down to a beach, roll-up the jeans, put on an anorak and just walk on the sand. GOD. I miss doing that. I miss being able to walk on the beach in the rain. There’s nothing like it.
I’m so looking forward to moving to the Sunshine Coast next year. They seem to get much more rain than we do. And you can bet that the first day like this that we get up there, Mum and I will be out there, wandering over the sand.

D’oh! So close. I went and checked the answer key - I only answered one question ‘wrong’ (well, it was partially right) in the Expert section, but actually lost 2 points on it because it was a multiple choice.

I’ve just spent the last hour (plus) uploading new smilies (instead of the default ones - I actually prefer the ones I used to have on the InvisionBoard I ran a few years back) and hacking the code (details here) so I can use different emoticons. So this is your basic test entry to see if they work.
