Eclipse photos
Mostly the same, just slightly different in clarity, colour, whatever. 
Also, if you’re wondering at the lack of cloud we were - surprisingly! - blessed with a clear sky! During the moonrise there was plenty of light cloud about but by the time the eclipse started the cloud appeared to have moved off. Score!

1. Anywhere on the beach;
We don’t have a beach but we are on the bay and have an unobstructed view of the eastern night sky. I might even get the camera out and see what happens. (Tai took a bunch of photos of the moon the other night with her camera on the tripod and they turned out really well)

Yesterday. I didn’t tell anyone about my informal chat with DME - just told them I had an appointment. But it was for a good reason - didn’t want to jinx it!

Hee!!
I have to share this exciting news. I… appear to kind of have a job at DME.
*dances*
I say ‘kind of’ because I’ve been offered it verbally but haven’t actually received anything in writing. But verbally’s as good as!
The position has been newly created apparently. There are 3 HR-related areas within the department and the role is designed to support all 3 areas with enquiries and whatever else needs doing. It’s an AO3 and temporary for 3 months - we’ll see what happens at the end of the 3 months. Whether it’s then redesignated to an AO4 because of an increase in duties, or advertised or what-have-you none of us knows. But YAY!
I sent my resignation to my Team Leader this afternoon - she said email was fine - so my last day will be Friday, 7th Sept.
I’m happy but not full-on excited… I don’t think it’s actually sunk in yet.

Weather WTF?!
Well. Okay. This is going to be an interesting night.
I got home about 30 mins ago (we had overtime tonight) and the weather is WILD outside and has been for a while (according to Mum & Tai). It’s PELTING down with rain and the wind… OMG the WIND.
I’m beginning to wonder if a cyclone has parked it’s arse on top of our house because holy mother of god. The picture windows that face out on to the bay? THEY ARE BILLOWING. LIKE SAILS. I WISH I WERE KIDDING.
I’m glancing nervously at the windows every 30 seconds now. With every huge gust of wind (and holy crap, they are huge), I’m wondering if that’s going to be the one that does it and there’ll be no more glass. Seriously. What happens if they get sucked out? What happens if they blow IN? 
Thinking that keeping my computer out in the living area might not be such a hot idea tonight. Y’know. Just in case.

Phones ZOMG
This family has too many phones. As well as the mobiles we each have (though, granted, Tai’s doesn’t work) we have the home phone and the VoIP phone.
Just had the biggest “WTF???” moment that brought on this realisation. Mum was talking to a friend/author on the phone and it rang while she was talking. Tai and I didn’t realise until a few seconds later that it was the home phone ringing and Mum is on the VoIP phone.
Sometimes I think technology rules our lives.
